Radiation Therapy next

Hi friends & family-
I was in the hospital Monday, April20th-21st to rule out breast cancer that has spread to my brain. Needless to say, it has. The lesion's are small, under 2cm, but there regardless.

I started whole brain radiation today, and will eventually have ten cycles of radiation (9 to go!!) As of right now, my first day, I feel fine, just a bit tired, but that is normal daily living for me. I'm usually only good for about 8hrs a day, and then am ready for bed! Sorry isn't it.

As far as chemo goes, it is on hold, because its to toxic to do both at the same time. The total break from chemo will be three weeks, instead of two, because I'm currently Neutropenic, and my lab values are to low to receive treatment. I should maybe re-start chemo around May6th, give or take.

So that is the latest and greatest news around here, and with me. Steve couldn't be any better of a husband throughout this whole thing. Now that I have brain cancer, he's even more caring and concerned for my well fair. I couldn't have asked for better. He deserves a lot of praise just for loving & supporting his wife.

Hope all is well with each of you? I sure would love to hear from some of you sometime. Take care my friends, and know your friend Tiffany cares about each of you.

Hi Tiff, Took me a while to get back logged in and "accept cookies". Bet you are surprised when I tell you Grumpy retired. Couldn't stand the place at all. Too many changes. Too much hassle. You are one neat gal. Hang in there and the brain will go the way of the lungs. Also note that college football is only 4 months away and that is definitely something to look forward to. I'm currently in Albany NY where my son is a spine surgeon. We thought we'd like to move here but it's too damn cold. Next stop is to try Houston where I know it will be too damn hot! Will be back in HI in a month and probably not move at all. Keep up the good work. You are doing just fine. Sounds like you've got great docs and a fantastic husband. Dr. M

Hi Tiffany,

You don't know me, but you were on our prayer list today.

I went through breast cancer myself about 4 1/2 years ago. Obviously not as severe as yours.

Just wanted to stop in and offer some encouragement and let you know the prayer warriors at my church are praying for you.

Best of luck in all this crazy mess.

Hey Tiffany,

Tried to get downstairs to see you today but clinic was a bit too hectic. I should be able to get there tomorrow about 1045. If I miss you I'll try to intercept you as you leave. I'm praying for you and Steve everyday.

Hey Tiff,
I do love what the first blogger said about the brain following the way of the lungs. Radiation is powerful stuff. I am sure it will shrink those pip-squeeks! Also I like his thinking on college football nearing. Of course we'll see if your ole Dogs have anything to bring this year! Go Gators!! Hang in there my brave and stong friend! You are amazing! Steve too!
Luv ya,
Carrie
